Description

JWR Employment Specialists are recruiting a Tooling Technician for a Sligo based
client.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced candidate to be a specialist
technical resource for tooling maintenance and supporting production and
troubleshooting activities.

Duties include;
• Maintain and promote high standards in health and safety and house-keeping
• Carry out daily preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of multi cavity
injection mould tooling
• Liaise with Production team in troubleshooting mould problems and quality
issues
• Responsible for Jigs & Fixture manufacture and maintenance
• Inspection and measurement of tooling spare parts
• Adherence to spare part management system and accompanying documentation
• Attends internal meetings to help establish priorities and assigned tasks
• Promoting a teamwork culture within the facility
• Ensure all relevant documentation is filled out as per company procedures
• Supporting tooling transfer processes

Skills and Qualifications:
• Toolmaking qualification plus time served with a toolmaker, with experience in a
mould maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of latest mould tool technology.
• Good understanding of the injection moulding process.
• Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the
following mould types would be a distinct advantage: Multi cavity moulds, Hot
Runner moulds, Valve gated moulds
• Knowledge of Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics would be an advantage.
• Possess a good understanding and application of lean principles and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to use troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of plastics and mould types.
• Computer literate e.g. Solid Works, MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
would be an advantage.
• Able to take responsibility and work on one’s own initiative
• An innovative approach to problem solving
