We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing, specializing in Forensic Psychiatry. Join a team dedicated to empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Updating and maintaining precise individual care plans to ensure services are consistently delivered with excellence in quality and safety.
• Lead efforts to maintain superior infection control practices, safeguarding the health of patients, staff, and visitors.
• Conduct thorough assessments, design, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual needs, working collaboratively with patients, carers, and other professionals.
• Uphold and enforce safety protocols, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
• Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations for all incoming patients, establishing a foundation for superior care.
• Lead efforts in collaborating with external agencies to ensure effective communication across services.
• Maintain high standards of nursing care during clinical procedures, ensuring the safe handling and administration of medications.
• Mentor and oversee staff, assist the Director of Nursing, and lead the center in their absence, fostering a supportive team environment.
• Address and report professional issues to the Director of Nursing as needed, facilitating initial investigations when necessary.
• Prepare thoroughly for visits and inspections by the Mental Health Commission, ensuring readiness and compliance.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Registered with the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Post-registration (QQI Level 8 or higher) qualification in healthcare management.
• At least 5+ years of post-qualification experience in psychiatric nursing.
• A minimum of 3+ years in a managerial role within psychiatric nursing.
• Demonstrated experience in critical or clinical care settings.
• Deep understanding of the Health Act 2007, Mental Health Act 2001, Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and all related regulations.
• Outstanding organisational and, communication skills
• A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
