Head of the Office of the CEO – Strategic Programme Manager

Location: Dublin office, Cork office or Galway office

HIQA is recruiting a Head of the Office of the CEO – Strategic Programme Manager for its Office of the CEO Directorate.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the Chief Executive Officer in the effective planning, coordination, delivery and oversight of their remit and role.

The successful candidate will build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to prioritise and facilitate strategic forward planning on the delivery of HIQA’s goals and priorities. This will include the coordination, briefing, tracking and execution of key actions, emerging needs and the deliverables associated with optimising the effectiveness of the role.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing, delivering and overseeing communication materials, strategic documents, correspondence and briefing papers supporting the internal and external engagement requirements of the CEO. You will act as a trusted advisor and operational partner championing continuous improvement within processes ensuring the function is effective and high performing.

An important aspect of the role will be supporting the work of the Board through building effective relationships with the Board Secretariat to ensure effective oversight and alignment of Board and Executive Management Team programmes of work. A key objective is to develop effective systems, processes and controls to enable effective oversight ensuring that the Corporate Plan objectives and work programmes are delivered and evaluated.

Regional Manager, Older Person’s Team

HIQA is recruiting a Regional Manager, Older Person’s Team for its Chief Inspector Directorate.

The Regional Manager will join the Social Services Regulation Directorate team and will also be appointed as an inspector of social services and carry out the function as set out under the Scheme of Determination by the Chief Inspector of Social Services. The Regional Manager will be responsible for managing a team of inspectors of social services and a programme of regulation in designated centres for older persons in line with the HIQA’s and the Chief Inspector’s legal duties and business plan objectives.

The Regional Manager will be responsible for supporting the team of inspectors and regulatory support officer and/or other staff as required, ensuring that all staff within their span of responsibility discharge their duties in line with the Chief Inspector Scheme of Determination, regulatory guidance, business rule and HIQA’s policies, procedures and quality assurance mechanisms. The Regional Manager will also be responsible for the programme of regulation and the assessment of compliance with legislation and national standards up to and including enforcement activity as required.
