Requirements for candidates applying to work as a nurse in Ireland

Nurses living inside the EU

  • Must have required IELTS/OET score and have commenced their NMBI process
  • NMBI Pin nurses will be interviewed
  • At least 2 years’ nursing experience
  • Passport must be in date by at least one year from September 2019
  • Must have police clearance from their own country
  • Have 3 referees that we can contact

Nurses living outside the EU

  • Must have their IELTS/OET completed to be eligible for interview and have commenced their NMBI Process
  • NMBI pin holders will be interviewed
  • Nurses with an NMBI decision letter will be interviewed (General, Midwifery and Psychiatric )
  • Passport must be in date by at least one year from September 2019
  • Must have police clearance from their own country
  • Have 3 referees that we can contact
