Reports to: Radiology Services Manager / Head of Radiology

We're currently seeking a dedicated Basic Grade Radiographer to join their radiology team in Dublin. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Perform radiographic examinations as required in accordance with competency framework.
  • Maintain a high standard of radiography.
  • Participate in on-call service as needed.
  • Adhere to radiation protection principles including justification, optimization (ALARA), and dose constraints. Stay informed about relevant directives and standards.
  • Conduct routine inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. Report any issues promptly.
  • Acknowledge personal limitations and seek guidance from senior staff when necessary.
  • Follow directions from superiors and departmental protocols.
  • Stay updated on current techniques and advancements in radiography. Engage in Continued Professional Development.
  • Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and safety in the department. Adhere to infection control procedures.
  • Comply with Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Report any safety issues promptly.
  • Provide quality service to patients with a focus on individualized care, efficiency, and confidentiality.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by superiors.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and non-radiographic staff.
  • Participate in radiology Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) as required.
  • Adapt to evolving service requirements and changes within the hospital.

  
Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography
  • CORU registered
  • Some post-qualification experience in a radiology department is desirable.

  
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge:

  • Ability to interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong communication skills to address enquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Proficiency in presenting information clearly.
  • Mathematical aptitude to operate complex radiological equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills to collect data and draw valid conclusions.
