Description

Catering Attendant – Kilkenny

Join a respected healthcare facility in Kilkenny as a Catering Attendant, supporting both ward and canteen services. This role is essential in delivering nutritious meals with care and efficiency. Ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare or high-volume catering environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals and beverages, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning utensils, equipment, and food prep areas.
  • Follow HACCP procedures and infection control protocols at all times.
  • Store, label, and rotate food correctly to maintain freshness and avoid waste.
  • Deliver meals to wards and provide patient assistance during mealtimes.
  • Ensure canteen service is smooth, professional, and customer-focused.
  • Keep ward pantries stocked and ready for daily service.
  • Follow proper waste and recycling procedures.
  • Work closely with kitchen and ward staff to ensure efficient food service.

Requirements:

  • 6–12 months’ experience in catering or a high-volume kitchen, ideally in a healthcare setting.
  • Legal Right to Work in Ireland and Garda Vetting clearance.
  • Ability to provide 5 years of work references.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to hygiene and infection control.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Salary & Benefits:

  • €17.35/hour, with Double Pay on Sundays & Bank Holidays.
  • Scheduled to work 5 days out of 7, including possible weekend shifts.
  • Daytime shifts, typically between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm.
