Clinical Nurse Lead Job for New Mental Health Service based in Meath
Our client, a leading provider of residential care for individuals with Intellectual disabilities and mental health, are hiring a Clinical Nurse Lead for a new Mental Health Service based in Meath. This service will provide specialised inpatient mental health care and is seeking experienced and passionate Psychiatric Nurses to join our dynamic team as Clinical Nurse Leads. Clinical Nurse Lead Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Lead will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients mental health services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position involves providing nursing assessments, developing and evaluating care plans, supervising junior staff, and maintaining the highest level of infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Live our clients mission, vision, and values: Uphold the principles and standards of our clients organization.
- Compliance: Adhere to responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2001, Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and all related regulations and codes of practice.
- Care Planning and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans in collaboration with patients, carers, and other professionals. Ensure Individual Care Plans (ICP) are up to date.
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead the unit, support junior staff in clinical decision-making, and ensure appropriate skill mix in each unit. Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff members.
- Clinical Excellence: Maintain high standards in clinical nursing procedures, including custody, storage, and administration of medicines. Ensure the protection of patients' rights under the Mental Health Act.
- Operational Management: Oversee the Centre in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing. Plan and prepare for Mental Health Commission (MHC) visits and inspections. Collaborate with external agencies to ensure effective communication across services.
Skills and Qualifications for this Clinical Nurse Lead Job:
Registration: Registered on, or eligible to be on, the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years post qualification/registration psychiatric nursing experience.
Knowledge for this Clinical Nurse Lead Job:
Comprehensive understanding and familiarity with the Health Act 2007, The Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and all associated standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
