Description
Independent Veterinary Equine Clinic in Suffolk is looking for an equine vet surgeon to join their team of five equine and large animal veterinary surgeons.
Principal areas of responsibility for the role
As an equine veterinary surgeon, you will routinely cover the treatment of horses and donkeys.
Work to include (not exclusive)
Lameness work ups
Dentistry
Endoscope
Minor surgery
Radiography
Routine work
Blood samples
Vettings
JMB measurements
Vaccinations
Wound management
Health checkups
Skin conditions
Stud work (if interested)
Duties
The day starts at 08.30 and finishes at 17.30, with an hour for lunch.
One night a week on call (emergencies only): 17.30 – 08.30 next day.
Two weekends in six, with two days back as days off: 08.30 Sat – 08.30 Monday.
A nurse takes the emergency phone calls and will contact the vet if necessary.
Equipment
The practice has a range of modern equipment and facilities at each site.
You will be provided with a fully equipped practice vehicle.
You will have a mobile phone and laptop with the necessary software and access to
all the animals’ history details.
Software planning for visits to ensure the best use of your time.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
MRCVS qualification
RCVS registration
Up-to-date CPD record
You must have a strong work ethic and provide a high standard of clinical service.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to
develop a great rapport with both clients and team members.
Being a team player is highly important for the role along with good organisational
skills.
Full UK driving licence.
You will enjoy working within a busy practice with a wide variety of cases.
Emergency out-of-hours work may include an occasional small holding animal (i.e.
goat/alpaca).

Open to a full or part-time position.
Salary is dependent upon experience.
