Description

JWR Employment Specialists are delighted to be recruiting for an Experienced Machine Operator (Weekend Day Shift) for a busy manufacturing company in Sligo town.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain team lead experience. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a production team to achieve its targets and manage productivity.

Hours of Work: Saturday & Sunday – 8am – 8pm

2 x 8 hour shifts to be completed on evening shift – 4pm to 12am or night shift – 12am to 8am during the week to make up 40 hours

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising and leading a production team, motivating and empowering the workforce to achieve its targets
  • Assignment of duties for all personnel working during the Weekend Day shift
  • Managing productivity, striving to meet KPI targets and reporting on production output to Production Manager
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations within your area
  • Ensuring quality standards are achieved in order to meet customer requirements
  • Active involvement in leading 6s teams and activities.
  • Active involvement in the implementation of lean projects and TPM programmes
  • Encouraging participation from the production team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives within your area of control
  • Liaise closely with Engineering and Maintenance to optimize line up time and resolve issues as and when they arise
  • Overall responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the Weekend Day shift

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous team leader experience would be an advantage in a similar industry
  • Knowledgeable in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and/or other statistical process improvement techniques
  • Computer literate e.g. MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the injection moulding process is desirable but not essential
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Numerate and possessing excellent analytical abilities
  • A highly confident team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people and situations at all level
  • Good communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic individual with a goal focused attitude
  • Strong planning / organisational skills
  • Able to take responsibility and work on own initiative
  • A proven ability to train and develop a teamwork culture
  • An innovative approach to problem solving
