The successful Healthcare Assistant will have completed a QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare and will have a minimum of 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant. Previous experience in a psychiatric environment is an advantage.
Mandatory Healthcare modules required are: Communications, Work Experience, Care Skills, Care Support, Safety & Health at Work. Please do not apply if you have not completed all of the mandatory modules as well as 3 of the elective modules.
Elective modules are: Recovery Mental Health, Social Studies, Care of the Elderly, Nutrition, Activities of Living Patient Care, Infection Prevention & Control , Human, Growth and Development, Care of the Elderly, Palliative Care, Team working, Nursing theory and practice, Anatomy and physiology, Occupational first aid, Equality and disability, Understanding mental health, Exercise and fitness, Understanding special needs, Gerontology, Health promotion, Disability awareness.

A candidate will be pointed on salary following receipt of your verification of service. Details of the incremental pay scale structure will be provided as requested.
A permanent full-time contract of employment - the offer of employment is subject to a 6 month probationary period.
The annual leave entitlement will be 20 paid days.
The hours established on the contract of employment for this position will be 78 per fortnight.
We operate a fixed roster pattern; The working week commences on a Sunday.
This pattern repeats for approximately 3 months and may rotate onto Night Duty. Night duty commences on a Wednesday for 7 nights in a row, followed by 7 nights off for approximately 3 months.
