JWR Employment Specialists are excited to be working with a rapidly growing battery technology company in Galway, Ireland to recruit a High Voltage Manufacturing Technician.

This role is based fully onsite in Claregalway.

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Be the high voltage testing specialist supporting production activity at end of line test
  • Work closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams to debug and troubleshoot software/hardware issues including prototype builds
  • Train operators on HV risks, safe HV working practices, HV PPE use
  • Inspect and maintain HV PPE condition & use
  • Inspect and maintain HV test equipment, harnesses & connectors
  • Maintain production software flashing procedures and coordinate with Software, Hardware, HiL Test, Process & Manufacturing engineers & Operations team to manage new software release to production
  • Work with operators, process & manufacturing engineers to deliver cycle time & safety improvements to HV Battery Assembly & end of line test
  • Develop extensive product knowledge and familiarity with battery software development/debugging tools
  • Work with HiL test engineers to implement improvements to end of line test procedures
  • Work with machine build & automation engineers to implement process improvements & automate test procedures
  • Support manufacturing activity for new product introduction

Requirements

Skills, education and requirements

  • Fetac level 6 or equivalent engineering/technical qualification
  • Relevant DC High Voltage certification (Automotive EV/similar)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with High Voltage battery systems – ideally in a manufacturing/advanced diagnostic role
  • Good computer literacy
  • Experience with technical diagnostic software/development environments
  • Demonstrated fault finding/troubleshooting ability
  • Keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a highly technical, challenging and changing environment
  • Experience with HiL test systems/LabVIEW Teststand an advantage
