Hospital Chef Jobs – Dublin 1Temporary Healthcare Catering Roles

3Q Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Hospital Chef to work in a healthcare facility in Dublin 1, preparing fresh, nutritious meals that directly support patient care and wellbeing.

This is a daytime, agency-based chef role, ideal for chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, HSE facilities or high-volume catering environments who value structure, standards and meaningful work.

The Role Working within a regulated healthcare kitchen, you will play a key role in delivering safe, consistent and high-quality food service. You’ll work alongside catering managers, dietitians and clinical teams to meet patient dietary requirements while maintaining efficiency and compliance.

This role suits chefs who are confident working to set procedures and enjoy the stability of hospital catering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present nutritious meals in line with dietary and clinical guidelines
  • Support or lead daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cook-chill procedures at all times
  • Manage stock rotation, correct food storage and waste reduction
  • Maintain accurate portion control, allergen management and presentation standards
  • Work with dietitians and clinical teams on patient-specific menu requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised and fully compliant healthcare kitchen

Requirements

  • QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification
  • Experience in healthcare catering, hospital kitchens or high-volume food service
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, food safety and cook-chill systems
  • Legal right to work in Ireland
  • Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
  • International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
  • Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references
  • Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills
  • Flexibility to work weekday and weekend shifts on a rostered basis

Pay & Benefits

  • €20.50 per hour
  • Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
  • Full-time hours, day shifts only (Monday–Sunday roster)
