Hospital Chef – Healthcare Catering | Dublin 18

3Q Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Hospital Chef to join a healthcare catering kitchen in Dublin 18, preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that support patient care and daily clinical operations.

The facility is easily accessible via the Green Line Luas and multiple Dublin Bus routes, making this role suitable for candidates commuting from South Dublin and surrounding areas.

This position is suited to chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, healthcare facilities or large-scale catering environments who are seeking structured daytime work within a regulated healthcare setting.

The Role

You will work within a healthcare kitchen environment, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of meals for patients and staff. The role involves close collaboration with catering management, dietitians and healthcare teams to ensure meals meet dietary, nutritional and clinical requirements.

This is a stable, purpose-driven role within healthcare catering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present meals in line with clinical, dietary and nutritional guidelines

  • Support the daily operation of a busy healthcare kitchen

  • Maintain consistent quality, portion control and presentation standards

  • Follow HACCP, cook-chill, food safety, hygiene and infection control procedures

  • Manage food storage, labelling, stock rotation and waste control

  • Ensure allergen awareness and compliance at all times

  • Work alongside dietitians on menu planning and meal adaptations

  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant healthcare kitchen

Requirements

  • QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification

  • Experience as a Hospital Chef, Healthcare Chef or Catering Chef

  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP and cook-chill systems

  • Legal right to work in Ireland

  • Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references

  • Reliable, organised and comfortable working in structured environments

  • Availability for a Monday–Sunday roster (daytime shifts only)

  • Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.

  • International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16

Pay & Benefits

  • €20.50 per hour

  • Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
