Hospital Chef – Dublin City Centre | Healthcare Catering Role
We are hiring a Hospital Chef to join a healthcare facility in Dublin City Centre, supporting the delivery of fresh, nutritious meals that contribute directly to patient care and wellbeing. This role is ideal for chefs experienced in hospital kitchens, healthcare catering or high-volume food service environments.
The location offers excellent access via public transport, including Luas, DART and multiple Dublin Bus routes, making it highly convenient for chefs travelling from across the city and surrounding areas.
Working as part of a clinical catering team, you will support daily operations across multiple stations while maintaining high standards of food safety, organisation and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present nutritious meals aligned with clinical dietary guidelines
- Lead or support daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality
- Work across various kitchen areas, including hot food, salads, cold prep and plating
- Follow HACCP, cook-chill, food safety and hygiene procedures
- Oversee stock rotation, secure food storage and waste minimisation
- Maintain portion control, allergen management and presentation standards
- Collaborate with dietitians and clinical teams on menu planning
- Maintain a clean, safe, compliant and well-organised hospital kitchen
Requirements
- QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification
- Experience in healthcare catering or high-volume kitchen environments
- Strong HACCP, food safety and cook-chill knowledge
- Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting
- Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work weekday and weekend shifts
Salary & Benefits
- €20.50 per hour
- Double Pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Full-time hours, day shifts only (Monday–Sunday roster)
