Kitchen Porter – Limerick
Join a respected healthcare facility in Limerick as a Kitchen Porter, supporting both hospital kitchen porter duties and canteen services. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking HSE kitchen jobs, catering assistant jobs in Ireland, or kitchen jobs in hospitals. It suits those with a background in high-volume kitchens, temporary catering jobs, or healthcare support roles.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring all dietary needs and HACCP standards are met.
- Carry out kitchen porter tasks including dishwashing, waste disposal, and maintaining cleanliness in food prep areas.
- Deliver smooth, professional service in the canteen and support kitchen operations during busy shifts.
- Rotate, label, and store food safely to reduce waste and ensure freshness.
- Replenish stock in kitchen and pantry areas.
- Follow infection control procedures in line with hospital catering standards.
- Work collaboratively with the wider catering and support teams.
Requirements:
- 6–12 months’ experience in catering, kitchen porter jobs, or hospital kitchen work, HSE or private healthcare settings ideal.
- Legal Right to Work in Ireland and Garda Vetting clearance.
- Ability to provide 5 years of work references.
- Good communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude.
- Strong focus on hygiene and food safety.
- Flexibility for day shifts and weekend/Bank Holiday cover.
Salary & Benefits:
- €17.35/hour with double pay on Sundays & Bank Holidays.
- Work 5 days over 7, with daytime shifts typically between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm.
