Description

Myhomecare are currently seeking to recruit a Network Testing Engineer based in our head offices in Dundalk, Co Louth. The Network Testing engineer will be responsible for testing an in-home hub with peripheral devices with a view to a nationwide rollout.

Testing a wide range of home automation hardware and health/biometric wearables, BP monitors, watches. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the hub and all other devices are connecting, transmitting and receiving information, and transmitting that information back into the hub. The network testing engineer will work closely with the team responsible for designing and rolling out our connected healthcare solution.

Duties of the role will include but not limited to:

  • Performing tests to ensure all equipment is transmitting information to the hub and back to our server
  • Document strengths and weaknesses of devices
  • Ease of use, connectivity issues, potential maintenance issues, battery usage, reliability, accuracy and bandwidth usage/loads. Testing, feedback & recommendations, looking at alternatives
  • Collaborating with the team rolling out the solution to ensure the best combination of devices
  • Installing in home kits where needed
  • Providing support to our customers if any issues arrive

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with smart technology solutions
  • Understanding of wireless communication protocols
  • Comfortable installing and securing a wide range of routers and other gateway devices
  • A keen interest and good understanding of home automation and IoT
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
