Contract: 11 Month Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Leave)

Location: There will be a blended work model, which includes remote working and flexible working arrangements, with the office location based in
• Dublin 1
• Tuam Road, Galway

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 35 Hours
Hourly pay rate: €51,574 - €73,752 based on experience

The successful candidate will take ownership of a monthly payroll process for over 800 employees (including 350 pensioners), reporting to the Finance manager within the Finance team. This role includes the supervision of the Payroll Support Assistant and also includes working closely with the Human Resources team.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsibility for accurate and timely end to end processing of the monthly payroll
• Administering third party deductions, i.e. Pension, VHI, Social Welfare, LPT, PRD etc.
• Completing control checks prior to transmitting the final monthly payment
• Ensure payroll accruals are accurate
• Prepare and compile specialised payroll reports to support overall budgeting forecasts
• Keep up to date with Revenue on-line services i.e. Tax Credit Certs and filing Payroll Submissions.
• Keep up to date with legislative changes which impact on payroll
• Accurate and timely processing and completion of payroll year end
• Complete reports for pension administrator and CSO.
• Providing reports as required by the Human Resources team to ensure full compliance with working time directive etc.
• Accurate recording of absences for various statutory deductions eg, parent’s leave, illness benefit.
• Supervise and provide support to the Payroll Assistant

Quality Control
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of the PeopleXD Payroll records maintained on the system
• Spot check the quality and accuracy of Payroll reports in advance of submission to management
• Responsible for the implementation of system upgrades and enhancements as they relate to payroll, ensure changes are implemented within deadlines and without error
• Monitor user acceptance testing to ensure accurate delivery of system upgrade from a payroll perspective

Stakeholder / Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Support the Finance Team through effective management of Payroll Administration
• Develop and maintain the Finance/Payroll Intranet to disseminate critical payroll information
• Develop a productive working relationship with Fáilte Ireland third party providers
• Provide regular feedback & reviews on the performance of these third-party providers to the Finance and HR Teams as required

Carry out all other duties as required and participate as a full member of the Finance Team by supporting different work projects, as required, from time to time.

Person Specification
The successful candidate must have 2 years’ work experience in a relevant payroll role, with a track record in problem solving and holding strong analytical skills.

• Strong organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate articulately and effectively both orally and in writing
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality

In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application form the following:
• 2 years’ experience with a large volume payroll in a fast-paced environment
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience with payroll software systems is essential

Qualifications/Mandatory Training
• A Professional Qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline is essential
Desirable Criteria
• Knowledge and understanding of public sector payroll rules and circulars
• Experience with PeopleXD payroll system
• IPASS qualified or similar payroll qualification
