Description

JWR Employment Specialists are recruiting a Product Development Engineer for a Medical Device manufacturing company located in Galway.

The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for supporting product development of medical devices from feasibility through to market introduction on a contract basis for our customers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who is excited by the prospect of supporting projects in a dynamic environment to support business growth.

Duties include;

  • The Product Development Engineer will be a member of the Product Development team working on a variety of projects and assignments
  • Development of balloon catheters, braided shafts and/or delivery systems for use in medical procedures to meet customer needs from initial prototype to commercialisation
  • Development of effective, reliable, and efficient processes for medical device manufacturing to consistently delivery product meeting customer, quality and regulatory standards
  • Documentation of design and development activities in adherence to product development process deliverable supporting development from prototyping through to product commercialisation
  • Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical support during product development, validations and commercialisation activities
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate technical and project risks throughout the product development process

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology programs.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in medical device or similar industry, ideally with balloon catheter, braided shaft or delivery system experience
  • Experience with product development process (PDP), medical device design and regulation
  • Proven record in innovative design and/or product development
  • Proven record in solving problems with innovative, efficient and cost-effective solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, planning and communication skills
