Job Purpose

The Production worker takes the responsibility to deliver a consistently high standard of chocolate and confectionery.  Some usual duties include record keeping, storing and labelling food properly, operating food processing equipment, mixing and moulding confectionery, assessing food quality and ensuring work areas are kept clean. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Tempering all types of chocolate using several skills to create all types of moulded or hand shaped confections
  • Decorate confections using all types of decorating materials (including spray gun, transfer sheets, writing skills on confections)
  • Weigh and measure ingredients for chocolate and confections production
  • Prepare ingredients based on standard recipe cards developed by the production manager 
  • Prepare chocolate and confections as instructed by the Production Manager, which includes the operation of :
  • chocolate dipping machines
  • tempering machines
  • packing machines
  • cooling lines
  • and conch lines
  • Notify management of any supply needs/low supply stock or damaged equipment
  • Maintain organisation and labelling of supplies and storage areas for maximum efficiency. Assist with re-organisation, as directed by Member Manager
  • ensuring a regular flow of information to the Production Manager. This would include meetings with management on workflow and NPD
  • Monitor daily production duties, document progress, and work with co-workers to ensure daily duties (orders, stock replenishment, etc.) are completed
  • Ordering of materials to meet production schedules – utilising nominated software package to create requisitions for ingredients and packaging
  • Ensuring that operating machineries are cleaned and ready for use
  • Understand daily/weekly maintenance of operating machineries
  • Efficient workflow - good understanding of output times for the machineries along with the processing times on the other side
  • Ensure that all trade secrets in processing, supply acquisition and the like are protected
  • Maintaining and monitoring CCP and CQP as outlined in SHERQ
  • Complete all required records
  • And other general work
