Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide Occupational Therapy Services within a compliant framework.
  • Ensure the highest standard of clinical care in Occupational Therapy, planned and delivered to meet objectives aligned with local and national standards.
  • Deliver efficient, effective, and economic Occupational Therapy Services within a defined budgetary framework.
  • Coordinate and supervise peer-support worker activities.
  • Be an active member of the Clinical Governance Committee and assist in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for Bloomfield Hospital.
  • Foster the continued development of research at Bloomfield Hospital and provide teaching, research, and academic support when required.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment and intervention programs for patients and residents, following professional standards.
  • Collaboration with patients, residents, families, carers, and other staff in goal setting and treatment and intervention planning.
  • Participation in and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary and healthcare team.
  • Maintenance of comprehensive clinical records of assessments, interventions, and discussions relating to patients and residents.
  • Management of the practice education of student therapists and promotion and engagement in the teaching/training/support of others as appropriate.

We’re Seeking:

  • Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification, and be eligible for membership with the AOTI.
  • Have three years full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Have established clinical experience in the area of mental health rehabilitation, serious and enduring mental health conditions, or cognitive rehabilitation in the area of Acquired Brain Injury.
  • Be an energetic individual with solid clinical experience in working with a team of diverse clinicians and a strong knowledge of the concepts and operation of Clinical Governance.
  • Possess strong ability to manage and play a key role in the practice education of student therapists and promote and engage in the teaching, training, and support of others as appropriate.
  • Have good knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Display strong and positive interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Demonstrate a person-centred care approach.
  • Possess proficient IT skills.
