Inspector, Designated Centres for Older People

Location: Dublin, Cork and Galway

Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 23rd February 2026

Grade: Engineer Grade II

Directorate: Regulation Directorate

Tenure: HIQA intends to create a national panel for anticipated vacancies that may arise in the following locations: Cork office, Dublin office or Galway office. Successful candidates will be selected in accordance with their panel ranking and geographic location as determined by the operational needs of the organisation.

HIQA is recruiting an Inspector, Designated Centres for Older People for its Regulation Directorate.

The Inspector role operates as a member of a team of inspectors responsible for the regulation of designated centres for older people. The Inspector, Designated Centres for Older People will carry out all regulatory activities in accordance with HIQA’s policies, processes and procedures to determine compliance with legislation and national standards, report publicly on findings and respond appropriately when service providers do not meet requirements. 

Inspector, Designated Centres for People with Disabilities

Location: Dublin, Cork and Galway

Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 16th February 2026

Grade: Engineer Grade II

Directorate: Regulation Directorate

Tenure: HIQA intends to create a national panel for anticipated vacancies that may arise in the following locations: Dublin office, Galway office and Cork office. Successful candidates will be selected in accordance with their panel ranking and geographic location as determined by the operational needs of the organisation.

Permanent (Galway office) & Fixed Term Contract (Galway office to April 2027)

HIQA is recruiting an Inspector, Designated Centres for People with Disabilities for its Regulation Directorate.

The Inspector role operates as a member of a team of inspectors responsible for the regulation of designated centres for People with Disabilities. The role Inspector, Designated Centres for People with Disabilities as advertised will carry out all regulatory activities in accordance with HIQA’s policies, processes and procedures to determine compliance with legislation and national standards, report publicly on findings and respond appropriately when service providers do not meeting requirements. 

Additionally, HIQA intends to create a panel for anticipated vacancies that may arise in the Cork, Dublin and Galway Offices.

Regulatory Support Officer

Location: Dublin, Cork and Galway

Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 9th February 2026

Grade: Engineer Grade III

Directorate: Chief Inspector

Tenure: 1 x permanent vacancy in Dublin or Cork
1 x fixed term vacancy in Galway until February 2028

HIQA is recruiting a Regulatory Support Officer for its Chief Inspector Directorate.

The regulatory support officer will work with the Inspectors, and Regional Manager and Deputy Chief Inspector to support the regulation of designated centers on a regional and national level as required.

The Regulatory Support Officer will support the team in:
– Reviewing and collating data and information
– Gathering and presenting information in accessible format to support the achievement of business plan objectives
– Carrying out specific regulatory functions in line with their authorisation and scheme of determination.
– Participating in and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the team and organisation.
