Hospital Chef – Wicklow | Healthcare Catering Role

3Q Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Hospital Chef to support a healthcare facility in Wicklow, preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that directly support patient care and wellbeing.

This is a hands-on healthcare catering role, ideal for chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, HSE services or high-volume catering environments who are seeking daytime shifts, stability and meaningful work.

The Role

Working within a regulated healthcare kitchen, you will play a key role in delivering safe, consistent and high-quality food services. You will collaborate with catering managers, dietitians and healthcare teams to ensure meals meet clinical, dietary and nutritional requirements.

This role suits chefs who prefer structured healthcare work over late-night hospitality shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present meals aligned with clinical and dietary guidelines

  • Support daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient service delivery

  • Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cook-chill procedures

  • Manage stock rotation, storage, labelling and waste control

  • Maintain portion control and allergen compliance

  • Work closely with catering and healthcare teams

  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant healthcare kitchen

Requirements

  • QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent chef qualification

  • Experience as a Hospital Chef, Healthcare Chef or Catering Chef

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and cook-chill systems

  • Legal right to work in Ireland

  • Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references

  • Reliable, organised and comfortable working in structured environments

  • Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.

  • International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16

Pay & Benefits

  • €20.50 per hour

  • Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays

  • Daytime shifts only – no late nights

  • Monday–Sunday roster depending on service needs
