Location: North Dublin (close to Dublin5, Dublin13, and Dublin17)
Salary: 65,000 75,000 + Bonus and Additional Lead Vet Supplement
A modern and progressive veterinary clinic in Dublin is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join and guide its dedicated team of vets and nurses. Situated within a pet retail setting, the clinic is well-equipped with two consulting rooms, a surgical theatre, diagnostic facilities including an x-ray suite, a dental room, and separate dog and cat wards. The practice is designed with a comfortable reception area and is committed to using fear-free techniques, ensuring each patients visit is as calm and positive as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor the clinic team with positivity, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Act as an ambassador for the clinic, demonstrating integrity, inclusivity, and commitment to high standards.
- Ensure clear communication across the team through meetings and feedback, while working collaboratively with wider support functions.

Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace.
Clinical
- Act as the named person for PAS Accreditation, ensuring compliance with VCI COS regulations.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgement, promoting best practice and supporting vets in their professional development.
- Oversee clinical compliance with protocols, initiatives, and purchasing and more.
Operational
- Work with the Regional Director to develop and deliver the clinics annual business plan.
- Take responsibility for achieving clinic financial, quality, client, and team engagement targets.
- Lead on operational compliance, team engagement, and retention by fostering a supportive and feedback-driven culture and more.
Requirements
- MVB or equivalent, with membership of the Veterinary Council of Ireland.

Proven experience in both clinical practice and team leadership.

Strong surgical expertise and confidence in decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and time management.
- Financial acumen with an ability to support business planning and clinic performance.

Coaching or leadership experience/qualifications an advantage.
