Your Responsibilities:
- Assess, intervene, and evaluate treatment programs for individuals with complex mental health issues in an approved centre, focusing on self-care, productivity, and leisure.
- Develop and facilitate individual and group therapy programs based on identified occupational performance difficulties.
- Promote recovery-oriented occupational therapy practices in interactions with individuals, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the Judgement Support Framework and policies. Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and produce detailed reports. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional practice standards. Maintain service user records per policy.
- Attend relevant internal/external conferences and courses.
- Engage in clinical supervision and performance appraisals, and follow up on actions and learnings.
- Participate in annual strategic planning meetings and support quality improvement goals.
- Share knowledge and best practices within the department and wider service.
- Engage in risk management, report incidents/accidents/near misses per policy, and understand HIQA and Mental Health Commission Standards.
We’re Seeking:
- Hold a Degree/Masters in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
- Valid CORU registration.
- Minimum three years post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist in a mental health setting within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in managing therapeutic services and programs, including occupation-based and psycho-educational groups.
- Implementation experience of sensory integration approaches with completion of a recognized sensory integration course.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with time management skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
