Description
Social Care Leader – Mullingar | Youth & Community Care Leadership Role
We are seeking a Social Care Leader in Mullingar to provide leadership and oversight within a youth-focused community care service. This role supports young people under 18 and their families, delivering structured care, guidance and safeguarding within a regulated environment.
This position includes one day per week in Mullingar and one day per week in Athlone, ensuring continuity of care across services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and leadership oversight within a community care setting
- Supervise and support a team of Social Care Workers and support staff
- Lead care planning processes focused on recovery, wellbeing and independence
- Support families through guidance, communication and advocacy
- Coordinate with CAMHS, Tusla, youth services, schools and healthcare providers
- Identify and manage risk, ensuring safe and compliant service delivery
- Uphold HIQA standards, safeguarding policies and organisational procedures
- Participate in case conferences, audits and professional supervision
Requirements
- Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field
- Proven experience in social care leadership or senior support roles
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children First and rights-based care
- Confident decision-maker with strong interpersonal skills
- Driving licence desirable; Garda Vetting required
