Veterinary Surgeon – Surgical Bias | Dublin

Immediate Start | €50,000 – €80,000 DOE

The Vet Office is currently working with a well-established independent small-animal hospital in Dublin that is looking to recruit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias for an immediate start.

This opportunity is ideal for a confident vet who can manage their own caseload independently and is either studying or planning to pursue a surgical certificate. The role would also suit a senior vet interested in progressing into a leadership position, combining clinical excellence with mentoring and service development.

  • Long-standing independent hospital with a strong reputation for high-quality patient care

  • Varied caseload: approximately 75% dogs & cats and 25% exotics (exotics involvement optional)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Confident general practitioner vet with strong surgical and solid medical skills

  • Surgical bias preferred; interest in pursuing a surgical certificate highly valued

  • Comfortable with imaging and dentistry

  • Enjoys mentoring colleagues and contributing to team development

  • Motivated, proactive, and interested in long-term career progression

The Role

  • 27 hours per week initially, increasing to 40 hours per week from the summer
  • Full-time or part-time considered during the initial period

  • Clinical role with a structured pathway to senior / lead responsibilities
  • Leadership elements may include mentoring, clinical oversight, and administrative involvement
  • Salary €50,000 – €80,000, depending on experience and leadership responsibilities
