The Vet Office is delighted to present a rare leadership opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Lead Vet position within a brand-new, state-of-the-art clinic in Portmarnock.

About the Clinic

This is a new, modern, and purpose-built veterinary clinic, designed to provide an exceptional working environment and the highest level of patient care.

Located in Portmarnock, with excellent transport links, parking, and a vibrant surrounding community — plus the added bonus of being close to the beach.

Facilities include:

  • Spacious and welcoming reception and waiting areas
  • Three fully equipped consultation rooms
  • Two modern surgical theatres with a large prep area
  • Dedicated dental suite
  • Advanced imaging and x-ray room
  • Separate dog and cat wards

The Role

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will take ownership of both the clinical standards and team leadership, playing a key role in the success and growth of the clinic.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing veterinary team
  • Deliver and uphold exceptional clinical standards
  • Drive clinic performance across clinical, operational, and financial goals
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and engaged team culture
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and promote preventative care
  • Work closely with wider support teams to grow and develop the clinic

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in small animal practice
  • Strong clinical skills in medicine and surgery
  • Previous leadership experience (or readiness to step into a leadership role)
  • Excellent communication and team management skills
  • Commercial awareness and interest in clinic performance
  • A proactive, motivated, and team-oriented mindset
  • Passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care
