Hospital Chef – Healthcare Catering | Tullamore & Midlands

3Q Recruitment is recruiting experienced Hospital Chefs to support healthcare catering services in Tullamore and across the wider Midlands. These roles involve preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that directly support patient care, recovery and wellbeing.

This is a structured healthcare catering chef role, suited to chefs with experience in hospital, healthcare or large-scale catering kitchens who are seeking daytime hours, no late nights and stable, meaningful work within healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with clinical dietary and nutritional guidelines

  • Work across hot kitchen, cold kitchen, preparation, plating and service areas

  • Maintain consistent quality, presentation and portion control

  • Apply HACCP, cook-chill and food safety procedures at all times

  • Manage stock rotation, labelling, storage and waste control

  • Maintain allergen compliance and accurate dietary controls

  • Work collaboratively with dietitians, catering managers and healthcare teams

  • Maintain a clean, compliant and well-organised healthcare kitchen

Requirements

  • QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification

  • Proven experience as a Hospital Chef or Healthcare Catering Chef

  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP and cook-chill systems

  • Legal right to work in Ireland

  • Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.

  • International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16

  • Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Pay & Benefits

  • €20.50 per hour

  • Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays

  • Full-time daytime shifts only
