Community & Healthcare Role | Mullingar & Athlone

3Q Recruitment is recruiting a Social Care Worker for a community-based healthcare service in Westmeath, supporting young people under 18 and their families affected by substance and alcohol misuse.

This is a rewarding front-line role where you will work directly with young people and families, supporting recovery, wellbeing and resilience in a supportive community setting.

Working Pattern

• 1 day per week in Mullingar

• 1 day per week in Athlone

This structure provides consistency for service users and a balanced working week.

The Role

As a Social Care Worker, you will provide person-centred support to young people and their families, working closely with community, health and education services to support positive outcomes.

This role is well suited to candidates with experience in community care, youth work, addiction support or social care settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to young people affected by substance or alcohol misuse

• Support parents, siblings and guardians

• Develop and review individual care and support plans

• Promote recovery, independence and long-term wellbeing

• Liaise with agencies including CAMHS, YAMHS, Tusla, An Garda Síochána, schools, Education Welfare Officers, Youthreach, GPs, AA, NA and Al-Anon

• Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and records

• Attend case conferences, meetings and supervision

• Follow Children First, safeguarding and health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Counselling, Psychology, Addiction Studies or a related discipline

• Experience in community care, residential services, youth support or addiction services

• Strong communication, empathy and teamwork skills

• Knowledge of child protection procedures and Children First guidelines

• Garda Vetting and legal right to work in Ireland

• Full driving licence and access to own transport desirable

Pay & Benefits

• €19.70 per hour

• Daytime shifts

• Double pay on weekends and Bank Holidays
