Description

Social Care Leader – Athlone | Community & Residential Care Leadership

We are recruiting a Social Care Leader in Athlone to support service delivery across community and residential care programmes for young people and families. This is a senior role focused on quality, consistency and safeguarding, supporting teams and service users alike.

The role includes shared working between Athlone and Mullingar, ensuring joined-up care and leadership continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of safe, person-centred care within regulated services
  • Supervise staff, provide mentorship and support professional development
  • Oversee care plans aligned with recovery, resilience and wellbeing goals
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and external support agencies
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, safeguarding and health & safety
  • Maintain detailed care documentation and service records
  • Promote independence, structure and positive outcomes for young people

Requirements

  • Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in social care, including leadership exposure
  • Strong understanding of HIQA, child protection and safeguarding frameworks
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational ability
  • Garda Vetting required; full driving licence advantageous
