Social Care Leader – Mullingar | Youth & Community Care Leadership Role

We are seeking a Social Care Leader in Mullingar to provide leadership and oversight within a youth-focused community care service. This role supports young people under 18 and their families, delivering structured care, guidance and safeguarding within a regulated environment.

This position includes one day per week in Mullingar and one day per week in Athlone, ensuring continuity of care across services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and leadership oversight within a community care setting
• Supervise and support a team of Social Care Workers and support staff
• Lead care planning processes focused on recovery, wellbeing and independence
• Support families through guidance, communication and advocacy
• Coordinate with CAMHS, Tusla, youth services, schools and healthcare providers
• Identify and manage risk, ensuring safe and compliant service delivery
• Uphold HIQA standards, safeguarding policies and organisational procedures
• Participate in case conferences, audits and professional supervision

Requirements

• Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field
• Proven experience in social care leadership or senior support roles
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children First and rights-based care
• Confident decision-maker with strong interpersonal skills
• Driving licence desirable. 
• Legal Right to Work In Ireland
• Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
• International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
